What is virtue

Is it morality

Is it doing the right thing

Is it fairness

Is it trying to make people feel good about themselves

It is all those things

And more

Feeling good is only a by-product of virtuous actions

I dare say

Those who deride virtue

Those who besmirch the virtuous actions of others

As self-serving ‘virtue signalling’

Are opening a window

To their own discomfort when others’ virtue

Forces them to hold a mirror up to themselves
