South Australia April 2021

It almost never happened. Ten days before our departure my partner, soulmate and travelling companion had a gangrenous appendix removed. I couldn’t see how the three holes punched in his belly would heal in time for the long road trip we had planned. But after a week of gingerly nursing pain he bounced out of bed and declared that he felt much better. Throughout the trip he continued to improve, helped along by the other party’s taking on all the driving and heavy lifting. Here’s where we went.
